Fantasy Injury Updates: T.Y. Hilton, Will Fuller, Tyler Lockett, more impact Week 12 waiver pickups

first_imgWEEK 12 NON-PPR RANKINGS:Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | KickerWill T.Y. Hilton play Thursday night?Hilton is making “great progress” toward his return from a calf injury, Colts head coach Frank Reich said Monday morning. Hilton was listed as a “Did Not Participate” in the Indianapolis estimated practice report later Monday ahead of the Colts’ Thursday night game in Houston.A number of other Colts were listed as DNP, although Devin Funchess (clavicle) didn’t need to be listed since he’s yet to be activated from IR. The expectation is that Funchess is close, but we’ll have to wait to learn more of his status. If Hilton is out again, Zach Pascal and Marcus Johnson will continue playing outside when the Colts go two wide against the vulnerable Texans’ pass defense.MORE WEEK 12:Waiver pickups | FAAB planner | Stock watch | Snap counts | Fantasy playoff SOSIs Will Fuller playing Thursday night?Fuller was listed as a limited participant on the Texans’ estimated practice report Monday, and Houston head coach Bill O’Brien called him a game-time decision for Thursday night against the Colts. Fuller hasn’t played since injuring his hamstring in Week 7.It seems likely that even if Fuller returns, he could be on a pitch count ahead of a 10 day rest before Houston’s next game. A return would also push Kenny Stills and Keke Coutee further down the depth chart. Fuller will eventually resume his role as a boom-or-bust WR3 for the Texans.WEEK 12 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight endTyler Lockett injury updatePete Carroll told reporters Monday that the Seahawks are “hoping” and “planning” that Lockett will be available after he sustained what turned into a scary leg injury before Seattle’s bye. Carroll said Lockett’s status will be more certain later in the week.As long as Lockett plays, he needs to start in fantasy leagues, especially against a bad Eagles secondary. DK Metcalf should remain a fantasy starter in that matchup regardless, too. It will be interesting to see how much Josh Gordon plays after having the bye week to get more acclimated to the Seattle offense. If Lockett is out, Gordon would make for a solid WR3.WEEK 12 DFS LINEUPS: FD cash | FD GPP | DK cash | DK GPP | Y! cash | Y! GPPBrandin Cooks concussion updateSean McVay told reporters Monday that he expects Cooks to make his return in Week 12. Cooks has missed multiple weeks due to a concussion. The Rams play on Monday night against the Ravens. At least it sounds like fantasy owners will know Cooks’ status without having to wait until Monday to find out. What’s more concerning is how bad L.A.’s offense has been of late. Cooks should be considered a boom-or-bust WR3.Is Alshon Jeffery playing Week 12?Just as Doug Pederson said about Jordan Howard, he said Jeffery is “progressing nicely” and “doing well” after Jeffery missed Week 11 with an ankle injury. The Eagles take on Seattle at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.Philadelphia’s passing game was pretty lame without Jeffery in Week 11, but that was against New England. Expect a continued Jeffery absence to mean Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert are the two most-utilized Philly pass catchers, though Nelson Agholor would have more value this week against a Seattle defense that gives up a lot of catches to wide receivers.Sterling Shepard injury newsShepard (concussion) was a full participant in Monday’s practice. He hasn’t played since Week 5 due to his second concussion of the season. The Giants play in Chicago at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. We’re back to having a lot of WR injuries to keep track of heading into Week 12. Below, we have the latest updates on T.Y. Hilton, Will Fuller V, Tyler Lockett, Brandin Cooks, Alshon Jeffery, Sterling Shepard, and A.J. Green, along with how their injuries affect potential Week 12 waiver pickups and sleepers. For updates on Marlon Mack and James Conner, go here; for the latest on JuJu Smith-Schuster, click here; for news on Devonta Freeman, Jordan Howard, and Saquon Barkley, go here; for more on injured TEs George Kittle, Evan Engram, and Austin Hooper, go here. Follow us for more news and updates on Twitter @SN_Fantasy. Shepard’s return would knock Bennie Fowler out of three-WR sets. It will be interesting to see how it affects Darius Slayton, who’s been a revelation with Shepard out. Daniel Jones’ full allotment of weapons is getting close to healthy, which should only help his value, too. When will A.J. Green be back?Green has remained out with the ankle injury he sustained in the preseason. He suffered a setback a couple weeks ago and still hasn’t played in 2019. The Bengals host the Steelers in Week 12 and will probably do so without Auden Tate, who hurt his neck in Week 11.Until there’s positive news on Green, there’s no reason to expect he’ll be back in Week 12. Alex Erickson will step up as the No. 2 WR if Tate and Green are both out. John Ross (clavicle) can return from IR in Week 13 for the Bengals.last_img read more

Everton bounce back from derby pain to beat Chelsea

first_imgBut Chelsea shot themselves in the foot when Kepa mishit a pass, gifting possession to Walcott. The ball came to Davies, who struggled to control the ball, but it eventually fell for Calvert-Lewin, who bundled home, sending Ferguson charging down the touchline.Victory is a huge boost for Everton, who slumped to a 5-2 defeat against Liverpool in midweek. They have a tough run of fixtures coming up including both Manchester clubs away from home.Lampard’s young team won six successive Premier League games to climb into third place in the table last month but have since stumbled, losing to Manchester City, West Ham and now struggling Everton. The manager will now turn his attention to Tuesday’s Champions League match at home to Lille. They will qualify for the knockout stages if they beat Lille or if they draw and Valencia lose to Ajax.Chelsea were buoyed by the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Friday to reduce their FIFA-imposed transfer ban, meaning they can sign players in the January window.Lampard welcomed the outcome but said the club would have to be careful with their recruitment policy after a fine start to the season with a crop of young players. Goals early in each half from Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin put the home side 2-0 up and although Mateo Kovacic pulled one back, Calvert-Lewin struck again late to seal the win.The three points for Everton, under the temporary charge of Duncan Ferguson following the sacking of Marco Silva, lifts them to the relative comfort of 14th spot in the table.Frank Lampard’s men remain in fourth place but Wolves could close the gap to just three points if they beat Brighton on Sunday.Ferguson’s reign at Goodison Park got off to the perfect start with Brazil forward Richarlison heading home Djibril Sidibe’s cross from the right to give the hosts a fifth-minute lead.Chelsea pushed for an equaliser, with in-form England forward Tammy Abraham going close a couple of times, but the Toffees went in at half-time 1-0 up.Everton got a flying start to the second half as well, with Calvert-Lewin barging his way through the Chelsea defence before slotting past Kepa Arrizabalaga from 12 yards. But Chelsea responded immediately, with Kovacic stroking in a volley with his right foot in the 52nd minute, beating the dive of England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. The visitors continued to dominate possession but Everton looked dangerous on the  break, with Theo Walcott seeing a shot parried at the near post.Substitute Tom Davies mistimed a header when in a good position to restore Everton’s two-goal lead. Liverpool, United Kingdom | AFP | Chelsea slipped to their third Premier League defeat in four matches on Saturday as Everton bounced back from their Merseyside derby humiliation to win 3-1 and escape from the relegation zone.center_img Share on: WhatsApplast_img read more

Reopened Library Adding More Hours

first_imgLibrary Director Judith Bakos said starting April 1, the library will be more broadly accessible again. The hours will be Tuesday and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.The renovated library has a spacious section for small children, with shelves full of books displayed to show the colorful illustrations, and one bookcase holding books for school age children, and more on order. There are also DVDs, newspapers and places for quiet reading. By Liz SheehanMONMOUTH BEACH – The town library has been rebuilt and reopened, and will soon be offering afternoon, evening and Saturday hours again.“By April 1, the extended hours will be fully implemented,” said Mayor Sue Howard on Wednesday.Since Super Storm Sandy hit in October 2012, badly damaging the library building, the library has operated from a small section of the great room in Borough Hall, at about half of its previous 30-hour a week schedule. In October, the town welcomed the return of the library to a newly renovated building on Willow Avenue. But the hours remained 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mondays to Thursdays. “It’s so much more than books,” said borough resident Dianne Zeigler.Back before the storm, Zeigler took painting classes at the Monmouth Beach library. “I now paint on a regular basis,” she said. She has entered her work in art shows.“My life has been fulfilled because of that,” Zeigler said. The Monmouth Beach library is a “member library” with the Monmouth County Library system. Residents have free memberships to other county library branches, and can order books from them for pick-up in Monmouth Beach during its business hours. They also have access to the county’s Library On the Go! app, with which they can download select e-books and audio books at any time.Borough residents pay for their library cards through both a county tax and a municipal tax.Sea Bright and Oceanport, neighboring towns whose libraries were also made unusable by Sandy have moved to new buildings. Oceanport moved into the town’s community center in April, 2015 and Sea Bright reopened their library in an area rented from the United Methodist Church in July, 2015.last_img read more

Number of school children missing class at record high, new figures show

first_imgThe number of pupils missing school across the country on a regular basis had hit record highs, new figures show. It is understood the numbers, released by Tulsa, is due to the rising numbers of homeless children, insufficient numbers of staff, and increasingly complex cases such as students with mental health issues and special needs.According to the Irish Examiner, figures contained in the child and family agency’s most recently published monthly report show that in April, Tusla’s Educational Welfare Service (EWS) had 2,636 referrals on its waiting list. The figure has been climbing steadily since last October and the comparable figure from April 2018 was 1,670 cases. In addition to the all-time high number of referrals on its waiting list last April, the number of cases closed that month — 275 — was the lowest monthly tally so far this year. Yet the number of referrals screened that month was amongst the highest recorded in 2019.Tusla said the EWS — which issues School Attendance Notices (SANs) to parents in relation to excessive absenteeism by children from school, and which can and does bring prosecutions to court — only started recording the number of cases on a national waiting list in September 2017, and the figure for April 2019 is the highest recorded since.“There are a number of reasons for the growing waiting list including staffing, the complexity of cases and rising referrals,” said a spokesperson for Tusla.Overall, staffing at the EWS, while increasing, “is still below what is required to meet service demand.” Number of school children missing class at record high, new figures show was last modified: July 14th, 2019 by Shaun KeenanShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img read more

Brownlee happy with Ginebra’s aggressive start in PBA Finals

first_imgKammuri turning to super typhoon less likely but possible — Pagasa PBA IMAGESLUCENA — Justin Brownlee was relieved to get the series opener out of the way and in the bag for Ginebra. He didn’t want a repeat of last year when the Gin Kings trailed 0-1, and later on 1-2 in the series winning the next three games to win the PBA Governors’ Cup championship.ADVERTISEMENT Brownlee knows that with the series shifting back to Manila, both squads will be on an even keel in terms of fatigue after a tiring ride back home from Lucena. But with stakes bigger as ever, it’s going to be mind over matter for the Finals protagonists in Game 2 on Sunday.“At this point, everybody’s feeling fatigued, everybody’s tired. But you just have to fight it. You don’t have the time to be fatigued right now. We just have to keep aggressive and continue that to Game 2,” he said.“Hopefully, it will turn out like Game 1.”ADVERTISEMENT “Last year, we didn’t had a good start in the series. This time, we won. We just tried to set the tone and we tried to be aggressive,” he said on the heels of Ginebra’s 102-87 victory over Meralco on Friday.Brownlee was largely instrumental in the triumph, scattering 32 points on an efficient 13-of-20 shooting clip, on top of his 19 rebounds and six assists.FEATURED STORIESSPORTSWATCH: Drones light up sky in final leg of SEA Games torch runSPORTSSEA Games: Philippines picks up 1st win in men’s water poloSPORTSMalditas save PH from shutoutBrownlee also acknowledged the weight of Greg Slaughter’s return for Ginebra as the latter gave them a huge threat down low that’s unmatched by the opposing Bolts frontline.“He definitely makes our offense a lot easier. He gets under the bottom and around the rim and he’s very difficult to stop there. We kept looking for him for him to stay on his rhythm.
