The report, which asked both full-time and part-time employees to rank their bosses, surveyed over 700,000 companies across North American and Europe. The average CEO approval rating was 67 percent. The survey spans from current to former employees, and asks about the work environment, company culture, rate compensation, benefits, work-life balance, and a general opinion on the performance of the CEO. Timothy J. Mayopoulos, President and CEO of Fannie Mae, was awarded number 59 on the list with a 92 percent approval rating. Mayopoulos first took up his mantle at Fannie Mae in 2012. Looking forward, Mayopoulos is both confident and weary at what the future might hold for Fannie Mae. In the mortgage lender’s Q1 conference call, the CEO acknowledges the mortgage market continues to perform solidly, and he expects to remain profitable annually. But, he also recognizes that Fannie Mae does not control many factors that impact the lender’s financial results, such as the recent administration’s move to repeal Dodd-Frank, causing a significant reduction in the corporate tax rate. “If Congress enacts such a reduction,” Mayopoulos said on the call, “it would negatively affect the value of our deferred tax assets and, we expect, result in significant net loss and net worth for the quarter in which the legislation is enacted . . . [and] would require us to draw additional funds from Treasury.” Mayopoulos remains confident, even in uncertainty. “[O]ur business fundamentals are strong and our business strategy is delivering results for our customers . . . We look forward to taking more strides on this journey throughout the course of 2017 and beyond.” Another notable industry leader, Spencer Rascoff, CEO of Zillow, came in at number 48, with a 93 percent approval rating. Real Estate Investment Loans Pose Higher Fraud Risk

first_img Governmental Measures Target Expanded Access to Affordable Housing 2 days ago 2020-11-12 Christina Hughes Babb Servicers Navigate the Post-Pandemic World 2 days ago Servicers Navigate the Post-Pandemic World 2 days ago Home / Daily Dose / Real Estate Investment Loans Pose Higher Fraud Risk The Week Ahead: Nearing the Forbearance Exit 2 days ago Mortgage application fraud risk was up on a quarterly basis while a suburban New York market emerged as the nation’s leading market for mortgage fraud risk, according to new data from CoreLogic. The CoreLogic National Mortgage Application Fraud Risk Index revealed a 2.4% uptick from 96 in the second quarter to 99 in the third quarter, although the index was also down 15% from the 116 level in the third quarter of 2019. CoreLogic attributed the quarterly increase to historically low rates fueling an increased housing demand, with purchase loans registering a slight increase in risk while refinances showed a slight decline in risk. The Poughkeepsie-Middletown-Newtown area within New York’s Hudson Valley region topped CoreLogic’s chart for the metro market with the greatest risk of mortgage application fraud, with a 15% index rise from a 190 in the second quarter to 219 in the third quarter. New York ranked highest among the states for mortgage application fraud risk in the second quarter due to the Hudson Valley’s dominant chart position plus a sixth-place ranking for the New York City metropolitan area and a 12th place ranking for the Albany-Schenectady-Troy corridor in the upstate region.Nevada placed second among the states for mortgage application fraud risk, with Las Vegas placing third among metro areas for the highest risk levels. Florida placed third among the states thanks to the presence of eight Sunshine State metros among the top 15 markets for high fraud risk.CoreLogic noted that the highest-risk applications for both purchase and refinance loans were related to investment properties.“Investment loan applications are showing a higher risk because real estate investors have a profit motivation for their activity,” said Bridget Berg, principal for fraud solutions at CoreLogic. “This introduces other factors and increases the risk compared to a purchase for personal use. Investors often own other real estate and are more likely to have undisclosed ownership and transactions in process.”On the flip side, Berg credited the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs for having the lowest risk levels.“Conversely, VA loans have lower risk because they are restricted to a select group of borrowers and are for personal occupancy, except for certain refis,” she added. “This makes identity issues and straw buyer situations rare. Many VA borrowers are employed by the military, reducing income risk also.”  Print This Post Demand Propels Home Prices Upward 2 days ago Share Save Sign up for DS News Daily Previous: Opportunity Zone Analysis Reveals ‘Dueling Trends’ Next: The Road to Mortgage Industry Innovation November 12, 2020 1,485 Views Data Provider Black Knight to Acquire Top of Mind 2 days ago The Best Markets For Residential Property Investors 2 days ago in Daily Dose, Featured, Market Studies, News Data Provider Black Knight to Acquire Top of Mind 2 days ago The Best Markets For Residential Property Investors 2 days ago About Author: Phil Hall Demand Propels Home Prices Upward 2 days ago Phil Hall is a former United Nations-based reporter for Fairchild Broadcast News, the author of nine books, the host of the award-winning SoundCloud podcast “The Online Movie Show,” co-host of the award-winning WAPJ-FM talk show “Nutmeg Chatter” and a writer with credits in The New York Times, New York Daily News, Hartford Courant, Wired, The Hill’s Congress Blog and Profit Confidential. It also wants to replace essential vacant posts with graduate nurses and interns with less experience. But the HSE denies that these are fresh cuts – saying they’re already built into the terms of the Haddington Road Agreement.General Secretary of the INMO Liam Doran says patients lives will be put at risk if further cuts are implemented:”Haddington Road cannot be used as a camouflage to attack the frontline of the health service. Staff in the health service are compliant with their obligations on the Haddington Road but this is a cut to far and absolutely will compromise patient care if implemented. It is because of this reason that the Bar has to come forward to save the institution.” – Press ReleaseThe BCI Chairman said that the recent comments by former Supreme Court Judge Madan B. Lokur  were “idle talk” against the institution of the Top Court,  undermining the authority of judiciary as a whole. “We have heard Justice Lokur giving sermons that no-one from the Bench and the Bar should ever indulge in act that would shake the faith of the public in judiciary. Now, he himself become part of these misguided group of people is a mind-boggling departure by him of his own much hyped principles”  – Press ReleaseFurther, it states that this action is even more reprehensible since the Supreme Court is seized of the Migrant’s issue and “purported intellectuals” are running an agenda of influencing the Court to “defame” the Government.Purporting to the alleged attacks being made against the Top Court, the Chairman has stated that this is being done to “achieve their morbid designs” and “settle their political agenda”. The statement of the press release goes on to allege that this is being done to lay undue pressure and stipulate dictates according to their wishes.Apropos this, it avers that the Senior Advocate who had recently made remarks against the Apex Court citing lack of pro-activeness and non-invocation of Article 14 of the Constitution must “carefully read Article 14 of the the Constitution along with the provisions and bye-laws of the Supreme Court Bar Association Rules before suspending the elected Secretary of the SCBA. Before reminding the Judges of anything, one should be mindful of his own deeds and misdeeds, states the BCI.Additionally, the BCI states the recent contempt case initiated by the Andhra Pradesh HC against political leaders for abusive comments against judges on social media were “justified” and “in defiance of the Court”.The Chairman states that the people “know everything” and that the people who are aiming to “disgrace, defame and lower the reputation of the Supreme Court” must not indulge in such “mischief”.”The statements by these few Advocates and Mr. Justice Lokur impute derogatory and defamatory allegations against the Supreme Court of India which aims to disgrace, defame and lower the reputation of the Supreme Court. Bar totally disapproves and deprecates such act.”Click Here To Download Press ReleaseRead Press ReleaseSubscribe to LiveLaw, enjoy Ad free version and other unlimited features, just INR 599 Click here to Subscribe.
