first_imgAddThis Share CONTACT: Lia Unrau PHONE: (713)831-4793E-MAIL: [email protected] SUCCESS IN MATH FOR STUDENTS, TEACHERS FOCUS OFCEREMONYStudents using games to determinewildlife population and learn about math will be part of a ceremonycommemorating a partnership between Rice University, Toyota USA Foundation andHISD on Feb. 3, marking the expansion of a successful pilot math program intoinner-city schools. The ceremony is scheduled for 11-11:30 a.m. in a classroom atSam Houston High School, 9400 Irvington.The expanded math program is made possible by a $400,000 giftfrom the Toyota USA Foundation to the Rice University School Mathematics Project(RUSMP). The gift allows the creation of a RUSMP on-site urban program, whichwill facilitate positive changes for all math students and their teachers inHouston Independent School District (HISD) schools.
